In partnership with the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the National Center on Early Childhood Health and Wellness, Children First has been chosen to participate in a three-year Health Care Institute (HCI) for Head Start programs. HCI enables early childhood organizations to empower families with knowledge, tools and resources to prevent disease and adopt sustainable, healthy lifestyles.

The HCI is designed to assist Children First in improving the health of staff, families, and children, while strengthening the local community. Health literacy is an essential tool to help parents help their children meet the objectives supporting school readiness.
